Most people know that the best time to take photos outdoors is during Golden hour, that magical hour before sunset, when the sun is low in the sky and throws off a beautiful soft, golden light. I knew I wanted to take some portraits of Josh and Ava at this hour of the day so I arranged for them to come over to my studio which is in Stoke By Clare, not far from Haverhill or Sudbury, after school one evening in the Autumn, I asked my friend Danielle from Butterflies Hair Design, to curl Ava’s hair and we went outside to have a play. We didn’t have a lot of time before the sun went down but we did our best. I also wanted to add some flash to these images to help the colours really pop so we back lit with the sun and used the flash and a large softball to light each of the kids. I was really blown away with the results and these are some of my favourite images from 2015. Have a look and let me know what you think. Models in the making I think!
These photos are amazing. I had to laugh at even you being ” blown away” .you are so humble. I came upon your site through trying to build up my confidence to do a PI course. Is that seriously what led you to where you are now? So inspiring! Thanks.
