Portraits with Pets are something new for Alison McKenny Photography.   We’ve always made our clients pets welcome if they wanted them to join in their Family Photograph session, but now we are actively encouraging our clients to bring them along (well as long as they are fairly well behaved).  For this session, I took Sarah, Emma and Hudson, their gorgeous Cocker Spaniel to Clare Country Park in Suffolk for their photo shoot.   It is our local park and I found a couple of spots in particular that I knew would be perfect for the type of images I wanted to achieve.  It was a cold day over the Christmas Holidays, but Mum brought along a flask of hot chocolate and a hot water bottle or two to warm cold hands and feet, and we had lots of blankets to hand too!  The Girls (and Hudson) were brilliant and even though they had never done this kind of shoot before, they followed my directions perfectly!   Hudson was willing to do anything for a treat and I just LOVE the photos of him on his own!  Too handsome for words!

A lot of my clients think they need to put off their photoshoot till Spring but I find winter photo shoots outdoors kind of magical.  The light is a lot softer and if you get a bit of mist, or frost on the ground, it only makes it better!  The light is much more flattering than in bright summer sun, so do let me know if this is something you would like to do!
