When Martha turned one, her Mum and Dad brought her to see me at our Stoke By Clare Studio for a fun Cake Smash and Splash photo shoot.   We had so much fun and Martha loved her cake and bath especially! Just look at the smiles, she is such a beautiful little girl, and having photographed her when she was a newborn, it was so lovely to see her again.   The idea with this sort of session is that we celebrate your little one’s first Birthday with their very own fun photo shoot.

Some of you may not have heard of a Cake Smash Photo Shoot.  The idea with this sort of session is that we celebrate your little one’s first Birthday with their very own fun photo shoot.

First, we start with Family photos if you would like them, to help your little one get warmed up in front of the camera.   Next we photograph your child in a favourite (and of course super cute) outfit, and usually, the smiles start flowing freely.   Then we will get the Birthday cake out (this is provided with your session but you are free to bring your own if you prefer), and we will encourage your child to get messy and have some fun playing with the cake.   Some babies will eat a little bit but they never eat a huge amount so don’t worry about that!   Once they have got super messy, I will run a bath in one of my cute tin baths, add some bubbles and bath toys and your little one can have lots of fun splashing away in the warm water.   This is often their favourite part of the shoot, and we finish up by scooping them out and photographing them all wrapped up in a towel or their soft towelling robe!  Gorgeous photos marking a very special occasion.

Cake smash sessions are £100 and normally last about an hour but we can go longer if needed.  We tend to let Baby set the pace, moving on when they have had enough of one aspect of the shoot and taking time out if they need it.   It is relaxed, lots of fun and you get beautiful images as a result, so do let me know if you are interested in booking a session for your own baby!
